Palghar in Maharashtra was hit by a mild tremor; no casualties

A 3.6-magnitude tremor jolted Maharashtra’s Palghar district, officials said on Sunday (September 27, 2026).

The tremor was reported on Saturday (September 26, 2026 at 10:33 pm) with an epicenter at a depth of 5 km in the Talasari area, they said.

“There is no case of injury or damage to houses,” said Vivekanand Kadam, head of the district’s disaster management cell.

Local authorities monitored the situation. Palghar, located in coastal Maharashtra, has experienced low-intensity tremors over the years. Authorities urged people to remain calm and follow standard safety protocols.
