Palaniswami criticizes TVK regime for “not showing enough attention” to purchased paddy field

AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Monday impeached the TVK regime for not showing enough attention to the paddy field on offer and protecting it from damage during the recent rains in the state.

In his statement, he referred to reports that around one million bags of paddy were damaged in Kumbakonam and several neighboring places. Similarly, Virudhunagar, Ranipet and Kancheepuram reported cases of such paddy bags. This happened because the paddy water, obtained many months ago, was not sent to the mills for peeling.

Referring to the visit of several TVK ministers to some rain-hit areas in Thanjavur, Mr. Palaniswami said that a mere visit would not solve the problem. He called for immediate measures to protect the purchased paddy fields.
