Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf has been suspended for two matches by the ICC (Photo: agencies) NEW DELHI: Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf has been suspended for two matches and will miss the upcoming ODI against South Africa after he breached the ICC Code of Conduct during the 2025 Asia Cup final against India on September 28, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Tuesday.The ICC has upheld the disciplinary action stemming from the India-Pakistan match, with the sanctions imposed following a hearing by the ICC Emirates Elite Panel of Umpires.

“Following a hearing conducted by ICC match referee Richie Richardson, Haris Rauf was again found guilty of breaching Article 2.21. He was fined 30 percent of his match fee and received two additional demerit points,” the ICC said in a statement.“This means that Rauf’s points total over 24 months will reach four points, resulting in two suspension points. As per the Code, Rauf is therefore suspended for Pakistan’s ODIs against South Africa on November 4 and 6,” he added.Rauf had earlier committed the same offense during a group stage encounter on 14 September, for which he was fined 30 per cent of his match fee and given two forfeit points.Meanwhile, Pakistan batsman Sahibzada Farhan was given an official warning and one demerit point for his “arms celebration” after scoring a fifty against India during the Super 4 clash in Dubai.In the same match on 14 September, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav was also found guilty of breaching Article 2.21, fined 30 percent of his match fee and awarded two demerit points.For the 21 September encounter, Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh was cleared of charges related to obscene or offensive gestures under Article 2.6.During the final on 28 September, Jasprit Bumrah accepted a Level 1 offense under Article 2.21, receiving an official warning and one penalty point, thereby avoiding formal disciplinary action.
