Indian Army killed a Pakistani terrorist during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri on Saturday night.
The operation — OP DIGGI 2 — was carried out jointly by the Chinar Corps and the Jammu and Kashmir Police based on intelligence regarding an infiltration attempt.
While combing the area, alert troops detected movement in the thicket and chased away the Pakistani terrorist who opened “indiscriminate fire”, the Chinar Corps said.
The terrorist was then eliminated by army personnel and war stores including AK rifle, pistols and a large quantity of ammunition was recovered.
The operation is still in progress, until the last update.
Earlier on March 10, an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Nowshera sector was foiled by Indian troops, killing one Pakistan-sponsored terrorist during the operation.
The operation was carried out by the White Knight Corps on Tuesday, March 10, with the unit adding that a second terrorist was also being hunted.
A day later, on 11 March, the White Knight Corps also found 4 kg of explosives in Poonchi.
