Unidentified terrorists attacked a police station on the outskirts of Peshaware in northwest Pakistan, killed constable and injured officers, the officials said.
“Terrorists, armed with mortal weapons, attacked the Hassan Khel police station, located about 30 km southwest of Peshawar, late Wednesday. Police staff took defensive positions and replied heavy shooting,” said PTI quoting officials.
Intense fire exchange is underway when the police are trying to repel the attack, they added.
Constable Abu Bakar was killed while the officer Haroon suffered an injury, they said.
This area was included in a high warning and was deployed to strengthen the supporting operation.
