The pilot of the Delhi-Srinagar Indigo, which was beaten on Wednesday with sudden hail, was initially supposed to use Pakistani airspace for a short time to avoid turbulence. However, his request was rejected, the report said on Thursday.
According to the PTI report, which quotes resources, the General Directorate for Civil Aviation (DGCA) examines the incident when the flight 6e 2142 encountered a serious turbulence.
The Indigo flight, which carries more than 220 people, including the Congress of the Trinamool Congress, met sudden hail and the pilot announced the “emergency” air traffic control at Srinagar airport.
The plane landed safely on Wednesday, but the passengers were left beaten.
The pilot noticed the turbulence on flying over Amritsar and reached into Lahore ATC to ask for permission to deviate through the Pakistani air space on Wednesday, according to the PTI report. However, Lahore ATC was rejected, she said.
As a result, the flight had to go through its original way, which was influenced by severe turbulence.
Pakistan closed his air space for all Indian aircraft due to the tension between India and Pakistan after the terrorist attack of Pahalgam, which killed at least 26 people. India also closed its air space for Pakistani carriers.
The Indigo flight hit a heavy turbulence

“Flight and on -board guides were followed by an established protocol and the aircraft landed safely in Srinagar. The airport team took part in customers after the aircraft arrival, preferred their well -being and comfort. The aircraft will be released after the necessary inspection and maintenance,” he said.
The five -member delegation of the Congress of Trinamool was included by Derek O’Brien, Nadimul Haque, Sagarika Ghos, Manas Bhunia and Mamata Thakur.
“It was an experience of close death. I thought my life was over. People screamed, prayed and panicked,” Ghos said on Wednesday.
“The hats are leaving the pilot who brought us. When we landed, we saw the nose of the aircraft threw into the air,” she said, adding that the delegation thanked the pilot after landing.
There were videos of turbulence moments on the social media, showing that the Paniva passengers pray for their lives when the plane was swinging.
