It was not found that the recent struggles between India and Pakistan, after a terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, according to the deputy of the congress Shashi Tharoor approaching the nuclear Prague.
“I think what happened was still short before it was close to the nuclear threshold, that the proposal, frankly, is ridiculous,” he said in a discussion on foreign relations in Washington DC on Thursday (June 5, 2025).
Mr. Tharoor, led by the Parliamentary Permanent Committee on External Affairs, leads the delegation of legislators and former ambassadors on diplomatic field tour tour, Colombia, Brazil and the USA delegation and the US and the USA and the US
At the beginning of May, seven such delegations were sent throughout the world after an armed conflict between India and Pakistan.
“I think our Pakistani friends like to visit this nuclear bogey so that everyone is enthusiastic and anxiety,” he said, asking if the conflict approached the nuclear war and whether nuclear coverage was expected in the future.
“In Europe, we have nuclear energy involved in the two -and -a -half -year war Ao Nuke has not spoken yet,” he said, asking why such a discussion was going just after a few days of fighting in India.
(Mr. Tharoor probably referred to the Russian-Ukraine War, which began in February 2022. Repeated discussions about Russia risk were repeated and reported reports of nuclear weapons).
Mr. Tharoor urged people not to care for India using nuclear weapons because he emphasized the Indian policy of “no first use” and Pakistani deficiency.
The Indian reaction through the Sindoor operation and the subsequent fighting with Pakistan was “calibrated retribution” (for attack in Pahalgam) and did not pose an existential threat to Pakistan, he said.
“Mediation is not a term we entertain”
In his time in Washington, Mr. Tharoor repeatedly pushed against the prospect of American mediation, an object that appeared, gave the claim of President Donald Trump that he put into operation on May 10 between the two countries and used the US trade as a leverage effect to achieve it.
“I would never assume that I would tell us to stay damn of everything he wanted to get involved.
“Mediation” meant equivalence, Mr. Tharoor said, claiming that there was no equivalence between terrorists and their victims.
“There is no equivalence between a country that provides a safe refuge for terrorism and a country that is a flourishing democracy of more parties trying to continue their business,” he added.
Tharoor acknowledged calls between Trump and Modi officials by the government, when the conflict was going on, he said that Americans might want to inquire. He guessed that perhaps American officials convinced Pakistani to stop fighting because it was Islamabad, who needed to persuade to cause confrontation.
Mr. Tharoor hit the Chief of the Pakistani Army Asim Munir on a speech, which he presented several days before the attack of April 22, in which he claimed that the Hind and Muslims were fundamentally different. Mr. Munir’s claim was “amazingly bigot”, Tharoor said.
Mr. Tharoor was asked by his son, who is a journalist if one of the delegation partners asked for evidence of who carried out an attack on April 22.
“Simply, no one had doubts, and we were not asked for evidence, but the media asked,” Senior Tharoor said.
He introduced the Pakistani history of the binding to terrorist attacks, the fact that the former chief of Al-Qaeda Osama bin Laden was found in Pakistan before being killed by US forces in 2011, he also said responsibility for Pahalgamu attack and originally pointed to Pakistani military presence on burial terrorists in India.
“This showed all sophisticated, planned and intentional operations,” Mr. Tharoor said.
