Pakistan will enter the competition under severe criticism after their loss in a group stage in India, where the defending champions chased 128 in just 15.5 overs. The former Indian opener Krishnamachari SRIKKANTH launched a ghostly attack on the Pakistan side and called them “team of the seventh division” and insisted that they no longer pose any threat to India. Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel that Pakistan should not play with the highest nations and suggested to be grouped with associated parties instead.

“In the future, Pakistan should not be introduced with the main teams. Place them with associated nations and bring others to replace them. Pakistan is a privilege that they are even part of such a prestigious tournament,” Sikkanth said.

The 1983 World Cup winner went further and claimed that the well -known rivalry in India – Pakistan lost its importance. “These matches will no longer attract crowds. This Pakistan team does not offer any frightened factor. It’s like the seventh side of the Chennai League division,” he said. Pakistan scratched into Super Four after a tense victory against the United Arab Emirates and defended 146 in their last group match. SRIKKANTH also focused on head coach Mika Hesson and claimed that Pakistan was on the wrong way under his leadership. “Hesson will be constantly repeating how good they are, and they were unlucky against India, but they are in charge of not going anywhere,” Sikkanth said. Hesson, who previously trained New Zealand and IPL Side Royal Challengers Bengalur, was named in May 2025 as head coach Pakistan.
