The “destructive” wind storms that raged across Central and North Pakistan after the intense wave of Heat killed at least 14 people and injured more than 100 others, the officials said on Sunday.
On Saturday afternoon and evening there were steep winds, thunder and lightning swept through the eastern pandjab and northwest province of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and the capital of Islamabad, heroing trees and shooting up the electric poles.
While most of the deaths were caused by collapsed walls and roofs, at least two people died after being affected by solar panels released whipped -up gusts.
One man was killed and the other three were injured by lightning strikes.
Mazhar Hussain, a spokesman for the provincial administration of the province of the Pandjab, said AFP that such a windstorm evolved due to excessive heat that has reached above 45 degrees Celsius (113 degrees Fahrenheit).
“There were three to four days in the recent wave wave, where temperatures increased a lot,” he said, announcing 14 deaths in Pandjab and 100 injured.
“This windstorm was particularly destructive. The wind speed was very high. There was so much dust that the visibility was significantly reduced.”
