Body N. Ramacandran, 65, a native of Edappally, Ernakulam District in Kerala, who was killed in a terrorist attack at a tourist location in Pahalgam, South Kashmir, was transported to Kochi Airport and Sloganeering against Terrorism against Terrorism (April 23) around Terrorism April 8, 2025).
The wife of the late Sheel Ramacandran and daughter Aaratha and her twins were also on the same flight. The body was initially departed to Delhi from Srinagar.
Reportedly, the victim’s wife, the patient of the heart, the tragedy was not, until the body was brought to Kochi. She was only told that he was injured in the attack and was taken to Kochi for treatment.
Minister of Agriculture P. Praad paid tribute to the victim on behalf of the state government and the main Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The body has been moved to the morgue of a private hospital in the city where it will be left by Friday morning so that the brother of the deceased Rajagopal returns from the US
Mr. Rajagopal left for the US to visit his son on Tuesday, on the same day Ramacandran went to Kashmir via Hyderabad with his wife, daughter and her twins. The body will be maintained for people on Friday to pay tribute to Changampuzha.
The funeral is expected to take place on Friday afternoon in Edappaly Crematorium.
Ramacandran was in West Asia an extensive period before returning to his house along Mangatto Road near Edappall about two years ago. According to his neighbors and friends, he was quite active and maintained the heartfelt relations in the neighborhood. His house witnessed a permanent flow of friends, relatives and neighbors on Wednesday.
Aarathy pointed out Meenu Menon, Mrs. Ramacandran’s sister, staying in Thripunithura, about the tragedy over the phone on Tuesday (April 22, 2025). Reportedly, her father was shot in front of her eyes, and she and her twins fled for their lives. Mrs. Ramacandran decided to stay in the vehicle to avoid steep climb to the tourist place where the attack occurred.
State Ministers George Kurian and Sutesh Gopi, opposition leader VD Satheeshan, deputies Benny Beanan and Hibi Eden, Mlas TJ Vinod and Anwar Samath, district collector NSK UMESH, BJP State President Rajeev Chandrasekhar were among those present at the airport.
