
The National Commission for Women (NCW) strongly disagreed with how Himanshi Narwal, wife of the Navy officer Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, who was killed in a terrorist attack Pahalgam, was treated on social media. NCW chairwoman Vijaya Rahatkar said in the X contribution that while some individuals may disagree with Himanshi’s commentary and subjected it to trolling or implementing personal attacks on its views is unacceptable.
The couple tied the knot just before the terrorist attack and were in Kashmir for their honeymoon, when the armed terrorists shot and killed the 26 -year -old Navy officer along with 25 others. In her first public remarks from the attack, Himanshi appealed to the nation not to be hostile to Muslims or cashmere. “I want the whole country to pray for him (vinay) that wherever he is, he finds peace. That’s all I ask,” she said.
“I want to say something else. I see a growing hatred focused on Muslims and cashmere. We don’t want it. We wish only peace – nothing else,” Himanshi said.
She also demanded that the attack be brought to justice.

Her sincere call to peace, however, encountered fire abuse focused on a young woman whose life was only a few days after her wedding. While some aimed at hateful comments on her personal life, others went so far that they said they did not deserve the pension of her late husband.
