A flying squad of the Telangana Food Safety Department found several serious violations on March 14 during an inspection of a bottled drinking water manufacturing unit in Medchal Malkajgiri district. Stock of bottled drinking water worth ₹55,800 was seized during the inspection.
Officials said the food business operator was operating with a lapsed license and did not display the mandatory Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) license on the premises. The unit was also found to be processing and supplying bottled drinking water to restaurants using expired or invalid license numbers.
