Over 8,300 missing girls and women traced in two years under ‘Operation Tracking’ in AP, says minister

Police have traced around 8,396 missing girls and women in the state in the last two years as part of Operation ‘Tracking’, said Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha.

On Tuesday (June 16, 2026), the minister highlighted the achievements of the police department at the secretariat.

“The police have enhanced security for the public, especially women, with the help of drones and surveillance cameras. Through ‘Sakthi App’, the police are conducting awareness campaigns for women about the laws meant to protect them,” Ms. Anitha said.

“Over the past two years, 591 people were convicted in various cases. Investigations in critical cases were accelerated and justice was served to the victims,” ​​said the Minister of the Interior.

Under Operation Chinnari Talli, more than 2,000 victims have been counseled and about 5,600 eve-teasers have been booked, she added.

The minister said that the police is taking measures to reduce crime, especially crimes against women and children in the state.
