A total of 58,821 people were displaced from May 3, 2023 to March 30 this year due to ethnic violence in Manipur, the state government said.
The data was provided by the home ministry secretariat on April 20 in response to an RTI filed by Manipur Congress leader Hareshwar Goshwami.
For the number of deaths and injuries related to ethnic violence since May 2023, the ministry said “217 people under ex-gratia granted NoK (kinship)”.
