Over 200 pediatric cancer survivors gather in Hyderabad for awareness program

More than 200 child cancer survivors and their families from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh participated in a childhood cancer awareness program organized by Rainbow Children’s Hospital in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad on Sunday.

The program sought to raise awareness of childhood cancers and encourage children undergoing treatment and their families by showcasing the experiences of survivors. Tollywood actor Ritu Varma participated in the program and interacted with the children and their families.

Rainbow Children’s Hospital CMD Ramesh Kancharla, Director of Intensive Care Services Dinesh Chirla and Head of Department Sirisha Rani stressed the need to address misconceptions about childhood cancer. They said cancer can occur in children and that many childhood cancers, including several blood cancers, have good treatment outcomes when diagnosed and treated early.
