Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu prevented plans for a new military offensive in Gaza and said that Israel “has no choice but to complete the job and finish the defeat of Hamas”. When he spoke to foreign media in Jerusalem, it insisted, “Our goal is not to occupy Gaza, our goal is to free Gaza.”
Netanyahu pushed back against what he called a “global campaign of lies”, in the middle of the growing conviction of the plan at home and abroad. He said that for the next steps there was a “relatively short schedule”, including the demilitarization of Gaza, the establishment of the Israeli “prevailing security checks” and the installation of the non -Izrael civil administration.
The Prime Minister also revealed that he ordered the army to “bring more foreign journalists” to the Gaza-chained shift, because external reporters were largely limited to military-prerequisite insertion.
Growing civilian tolls as Palestinians are looking for help
According to hospital officials and witnesses, at least 26 Palestinians were killed on Saturday. The victims occurred along the food convoy routes and at the privately operated distribution points.
Ten people died near the newly built Morag corridor separating Rafah and Khan Youenis, Nasser Hospital said. According to the Ministry of Health of Gaza and the SHIFA hospital, six other waiting for assistance near the transition of Zikim in Northern Gaza were killed.
In Central Gaza, witnesses said the warning shots preceded direct fire on helping help near the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF). “At first it was in the air, then they started shooting at people,” said Sayd Awda, who waited hundreds of meters away. AWDA Hospital confirmed four shooting deaths.
GHF denied any incidents in or near its places and claimed that violence was associated with “crowds that try to help the prey”. Also, the Israeli army reported any involvement of soldiers in the incidents.
Airstrikes continue to see how the hungry crisis deepens
Seven Palestinians were killed in separate air strikes – three near the fishing port in Gaza and four, including two children, in Khan Youenis. Israel did not immediately comment on the strokes, but accused Hamas of running civilian areas.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health of Gaza has announced two more dead children for malnutrition related causes, with the total number of 117 adults from the beginning of the war. Another 117 adults died of hunger -related problems since the end of June.
The number of victims of the war is now 61,400 Palestinians, according to the ministry, which is not distinguished among fighters and civilians, but says that about half of the victims are women and children.
The work strike urged in Israel over the offensive of the city of Gaza
Inside Israel, the opposition is intensified against the planned takeover of Gaza. Families of hostages and their supporters next week demanded a general strike and warnings could endanger the operations.
Tens of thousands gathered in Tel Aviv on Saturday evening in one of the biggest anti -government protests in recent months.
Lishay Miran-ulavi, whose husband Omri remains in Gaza, directly appealed to US President Donald Trump and a special envoy to Steve Witkoff: “The decision to send the army deeper to Gaza is the danger to my husband, Omri.
Of the 251 people, Hamas kidnapped the attack on South Israel on October 7, 2023, and killed about 1200, about 50 remains in Gaza, with 20 believed alive.
Israeli operations expand on the West Bank
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz visited the North West Bank on Sunday and announced that military operations in refugee camps would continue at least until the end of the year.
He said that security warnings have fallen by 80% since the start of the operation in January. This year, however, about 40,000 Palestinians were displaced – the largest such exodus since Israel captured the territory in 1967.
Israel claims that the campaign is necessary to suppress militance because violence on the West Bank has risen since the outbreak of war in Gaza.
