The Osmania Government General Hospital (OGH) in Hyderabad has strengthened its existing foot care center by opening a facility that will provide lightweight 3D printed artificial limbs to amputees. The facility was inaugurated on Monday by hospital superintendent Rakesh Sahay.
The initiative aims to support patients who lose limbs due to trauma or complications such as gangrenous diabetic ulcers. Artificial limbs are manufactured from lightweight materials using 3D printing, which allows them to be designed according to the exact dimensions of each patient.
