The Orthodox Church welcomed the call of the newly installed Jacobite Catholicos Baselios Joseph I, and stressed that the first step towards peace is the recognition and observance of the legal framework of the country.
In the Youhanon MAR DIASCOROS Metropolitan, the head of the Media Wing of the Orthodox Church, noted that it was important to hear it from someone who once said to forgive anyone but not Catholic in the devalocam. “If his words are sincere, peace in the Church prevails in the Church.
In the police
Metropolitan, referring to the police case against Jacobite Catholicos to enter the church of Kanjiramattom, noted that after crossing to a limited area. “The basic decency dictates that one should refrain from an illegally entering into legally limited spaces. If someone faces several cases, this simply means that the law has violated several times,” he added.
The Orthodox Church further pointed out that the new Catholicos were among the Metropolitans who previously submitted the court of honor and confirmed their acceptance of the 1934 Constitution. However, he claimed that he later acted in violation of the Indian court system and the Constitution confirmed by the Supreme Court.
“The discussion should only take place among those who respect the law of the country. Catholic must clarify their attitude,” the statement read.
Rejects the claim
The Orthodox Church also called on Catholic to expressly declare whether he was willing to adopt the law in his efforts for peace. If Jacobite’s faction intends to function as a separate church, it claimed that the justified procedure would be “to return the parishes that were taken over”.
The Orthodox Church also rejected the claims of Jacobite Fraction that their churches were confiscated, which called it misleading. “What happened is justified to restore churches to their legitimate owners,” the statement concluded.
