Vellore Orthodontic Study Group (VOSG) was inaugurated at Katpadi, Vellore to provide a common platform for dentists in Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupattur and Tiruvannamalai districts to share dental cases and latest developments in healthcare.
According to a press release, the group was inaugurated by NR Krishnaswamy, former Vice Principal, Ragas Dental College (Chennai), in the presence of Dr. T Samraj, former secretary of the Indian Orthodontic Society (IOS). The study group will be led by the main convenor Dr. SV Soumya, who is also Professor and Head of Orthodontic Unit, CMC Vellore; Dr. B. Diwakar, Joint Counsel; and Dr. Sarvapalli, Treasurer.
The study group will provide a platform for sharing knowledge on clinical cases, organizing health camps, building each other and creating public awareness through community service. Currently, the study group has around 30 dentists, mostly from Vellore. Members of the group will meet monthly to discuss health care outreach to residents, the release said.
