On Saturday, the state government issued orders to the main commissioner for land administration (CCLA) to start the process of appointing former income officers from the village (VROS) and assistants of income from the village (Vrass) as Gram Palana officers (GPO).
According to the orders, GPO posts will be filled with the former VROS who have been moved to various other departments, and the former returns, who were regularized and absorbed into common contributions in the cadre of junior assistants or records, are subject to the fulfillment of prescribed qualifications.
The government is already ready to create 10,954 GPO contributions for the revenue department to strengthen the management of the village levels.
The Duties and Responsibilities of A GPO Include Maintenance of Village Accounts, Conducting Inquiries for the Issuance of Various Certificates, Conducting Inquiries Regarding Encroachments on Government Lands, Lakes and Water Bodies And Assisting Surveyors in Land Surveys, Performing Duties Related to Disaster Management, Providing Essential and Emergency Services, Identifying Beneficiaries for Welfare Schemes and Development Projects, and to perform any other obligations entrusted to higher revenue officials.
The rules of the service will be framed at the right time and the payout scale will be the same as what the applicant evokes in this post. The previous service provided by the former VROS and returns to seniorities at the Ministry, the order said.
