Indian Wavelin Sensation Neera Chopra is preparing for the final clearing in the final of Zurich Diamond League 28.
At the age of 27, Neer Chopra, the double Olympic medalist and the ruling world champion, he continued to impress this season. He secured his place in the Diamond League final in fourth place, although he competed only for two of the four qualification meetings. Chopra skipped the leg of the Brussels But he showed his appearance earlier in the year. He threw 90.23 m in Doha in May, exceeded 90 meters and finished second behind Germany Julian Weber. In June, a powerful comeback made at the Paris meeting and declared a great victory with 88.16 m throwing.
Chopry’s last trip was at home in NC Classic, Bengaluru 5. July, where he threw 86.18 m to win the title. During the season he competed in six events, emerged victorious in four and finished second in the other two.
The final in Zurich will see Chopra to face the tough competition of some of the world’s largest names in the javelin world. Among them is the double defending champion Diamond League Anderson Peters, German Julian Weber, Olympic champion Keshorn Walcott, Julius YEGO from Kenya and Andrian Mardare from Moldova. The Swiss thrower Simon Wieland was also included in the set.
Diamond League is one of the most prestigious one -day competitions in athletics, with a thrilling format winner for the finals. The champions of each of the 32 events not only take home a sought -after diamond trophy, but also earn entry to wild cards at the upcoming world championship in Tokyo.
