In response to the Directive of the Ministry of the Interior (MHA), various participating parties performed the center of the Civil Defense Exercise, Operation Abyaas, at the Civil Defense headquarters in Ulsoor.

The drilling exercises included water rescue operations in Ulsoor Lake by a civil defense team, high -rise fire rescue using vehicles of fire services, water supply, rope suspension and stretcher.
The exercise also included coordination of evacuation exercises for imprisoned individuals, coordination between civil defense, fire departments SDRF, fire services and domestic guardians for search and rescue operations.

Interior Minister G. Parameshware, who witnessed the exercise, said in 1972 a similar situation arose.
“We can remember the incidents that happened in the country at that time. Now we have encountered a similar situation. The recent incident in Kashmir has hurt every Indian. Twenty -six people were attacked without distinction. It hurts when innocent people and children are killed,” he said.
He said that due to the prevailing situation between India and Pakistan, it is necessary to prepare for such an exercise.

Blackout drill
After the drill, art drills took place at 7 pm, which were instructed at 19:00 about measures to take in the event of a failure. They were instructed to turn off all the lights, close the curtains and evacuate within seven minutes.
Personal emergency sets, which include two sets of clothing, torch, dry fruit and emergency telephone numbers, were also mentioned as necessary during the outages.
NCC cadets who came to observe the drill said it was a useful experience for them. “We learned how we should respond to emergencies, and we will be able to protect our families or students when needed,” said Prithvik and Vandana from Suran College, Peenya.
Activated air sirens
Formerly on the day, out of 35 air sirens, mostly installed at leading fire stations and police stations in Bengalur, 32 were activated.
South Central Railway (SCR) performed a comprehensive exercise of civil defense at Raichur Station. Reserved team of 32 members from the SCR Civil Defense organization together with supporting staff from the local railway station actively participated in the 45 -minute exercise that started at 4 pm
The drill has been designed to assess the readiness of the staff in fast and efficiently responding to crisis situations.
