Openai brought the O1 Artificial Intelligence (AI) model to preview on Thursday and released the full version. AI companies claim that the new model can now perform tasks that O1-preview cannot do. It is said to have faster response times and simpler thinking. The OpenAI O1 AI model will be used for all paid subscribers of Chatgpt. Apart from that, the company has launched a new subscription called Chatgpt Pro, which will provide extended access to the best models and tools for OpenAI.

The new announcement is part of the company’s “12 Days of OpenAI” event, which is scheduled to host 12 live streams within 12 days and introduce new updates daily. On the first day, the company released on X (formerly known as Twitter) and revealed that its advanced reasoning-focused O1 AI model is now out of preview and that the full version is accessible in Chatgpt.
The company highlights the full version’s improved features, indicating that O1 is faster to generate responses and provides better performance in coding, math and writing. Additionally, AI models can process uploaded images and generate responses based on them. For example, a user could show the chatbot the image of the birdhouse and ask it to provide a detailed manual to build it.
OpenAI found during internal testing that the O1 model reduced major errors in the difficult real world by 34% compared to O1-preview. The AI model replaces O1-preiview, which can be used for Chatgpt Plus and team users through the model selector option in the chatbot. Enterprise and EDU users will access the model within a week.
Looking at the roadmap for the future, AI says it is working to add support for web browsing and file upload tools to Chatgpt’s O1 model. Additionally, OpenAI plans to provide large language models (LLMs) in its application programming interface (API) and add support for feature calls, developer messages, structured outputs, and vision.
In a blog post, OpenAI also announced the introduction of a Chatgpt Pro subscription. The subscription will provide users with unlimited access to the company’s most powerful models, such as the O1 and O1-Mini, GPT-4O and Advanced Voice tools. Additionally, users will get the new O1 Pro mode, which is described as an enhanced version of O1, designed to “provide better answers to complex questions” by using other processing power.
The Chatgpt Pro subscription costs $200 per month (about Rs 16,900), which is nearly 10 times the price of expensive orders worth $ Rs. 1,950 in India. The company said in explanation of the pricing that this subscription is aimed at researchers, engineers and individuals using research-grade intelligence.
