On Friday, Openai began launching its artificial intelligence (AI) agents in several countries. After the company introduced the company in January, the agent tool can preview it in the preview for ChatGpt Pro users who live in the United States. The operator is equipped with a dedicated browser, which is a general AI agent that can perform tasks independently according to the prompts given by the user. Although AI agents are now available in several major regions, AI companies say they will be used in European countries.
Openai’s operator AI agent is finally launched
In a post by X (formerly known as Twitter), Openai’s official handle announced the launch of an AI proxy. The company said it is now possible to use the operator “to Australia, Brazil, India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the UK, most Chatgpt Chatgpt Pro users.” It is worth noting that the tool is already available for people living in the United States. .
However, the company also added that European countries have to wait longer to get AI agents. The post added: “There is still efforts to get operators to provide in the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein & Iceland.”
On startup, Openai explained that the operator is powered by a computer usage agent (CUA), a special AI model that gets computer vision capabilities from GPT-4O and comes from an unnamed OpenAI model advanced reasoning ability (can be an O3 model). AI agents are trained using enhanced learning.
CUA has proxy functionality that can interact with graphical user interfaces (GUIs) such as buttons, menus, and text fields displayed on the screen. It also has a dedicated browser that allows it to perform operations in a separate space, freeing the user to perform other tasks.
The operator accepts text and images as input. When completing the task, it analyzes the original pixel data of the screen and performs operations using a virtual keyboard and mouse, which is also provided in a sandbox environment. Claims that the AI agent performs multi-step tasks, navigate through errors and adapts to unexpected situations.
