A single window system to speed up vetting and approval of projects as well as to overhaul the existing TS-iPASS system is being considered by the Telangana government, a senior official said on Friday.
Proposed as part of the District Business Reform Action Plan, the proposed single window system is expected to offer up to 44 services provided by various departments not only to industrial projects but also across businesses on a single platform. “We would like to revamp our TS-iPASS system with this single window system…we promise much faster clearances and approvals for all businesses in the state,” Industries Director Nikhil Chakravarthi said.
Speaking at the inaugural session of the two-day Business Summit in Hyderabad organized by TiE Hyderabad, the official said this and highlighted the work of the Telangana Government on Ease of Doing Business (EODB). Noting that the state is among the top three in the EODB ranking, he said some other measures aimed at deregulation, flexible zones for green and white category industries and changes to factories and labor laws are in the pipeline. The District Business Reform Action Plan has been in place since September and is expected to achieve its goals by August 2026.
Appreciating TiE’s initiatives, Mr. Chakravarthi said that the State Government and TiE are discussing a Memorandum of Understanding in connection with the former TiE’s endeavor to scale up 500 high-potential Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) by 2029, in the process creating 3-5 lakh high-quality jobs and facilitating access to over ₹5,000. Setting up of five regional MSME clusters in Telangana focusing on sectoral strengths will also be considered under the MoU, he said, pointing out the importance of promoting the growth of such businesses. MSMEs remain the backbone of the economy but their contribution is smaller compared to their global counterparts.
The partnership with institutions like TiE will help boost the growth of SMEs in the state, he said, expecting the MoU to be finalized within a week.
TiE Hyderabad President Rajesh Pagadala said the summit builds on TiE’s national mission to create one million entrepreneurs, 10 million jobs and $100 billion in value over the next decade. “This is fully in line with Telangana’s vision to become a global innovation powerhouse by 2047. TiE Hyderabad has mentored thousands of founders over the past 26 years and now is the time to give back by shaping the next generation of entrepreneurs,” he said.
A release from the organizers said that the Hyderabad Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Collective (HEEC), an initiative of TiE Hyderabad to promote collaboration, inclusiveness and shared growth among startups, investors, academia, industry and incubators, has been launched.
HYSEA, FTCCI, COWE, ALEAP, Biome, Hyderabad Angels, Mahindra University, iCollab, Bala Vikasa CSRB, IACC, IIKP, T-Hub, RICH, TG10X, Wadhwani Foundation and Founders First are part of HEEC apart from TiE Hyderabad.
