One more arrested in Palarivattom ‘dacoity’ case

The Palarivattom police, who are investigating an alleged dacoity at a rented residence of a group of migrant workers, have arrested one more person in connection with the case.

Police said the person was arrested from Palakkad. Due to this, all the seven accused in the case were arrested, they claimed.

The identity of the arrested has not yet been released by the police, as they are waiting for an identification parade with the victims. The six accused, who were nabbed from different places in the state last week, have been lodged in Kakkanad District Jail. “Once the identification process is complete, investigators will seek their custody for questioning,” the officer said.

The case relates to an alleged incident on 17 September 2026, where a five-member gang robbed seven migrant workers, including three women, of ₹1,20,000 in cash, 10 mobile phones worth around ₹3,05,000, gold ornaments and other valuables. Mobile phones and some of the stolen money were recovered from the accused, police said. The defendant allegedly stripped the victims while searching for ornaments.
