Eleven people fell into a pit in the under-construction SRA building in in Mumbai Bhandup (West) late on Thursday (April 23, 2026) night. One person died, two were admitted to hospitals and eight were released after treatment.
The incident took place at Metro Mall near Janata Market. The pit belonged to a building being built by the Office for Slum Rehabilitation. Persons from the Matoshri marriage hall fell into it. The Mumbai Fire Brigade received the report at 10:23 p.m. April 23rd. The police, ambulance 108 and employees of the department also arrived at the scene.
