
Police Peroorkada arrested a man on Wednesday for the alleged cheating of several students by a false promising college confession in exchange for large amounts of money.
The police identified the accused as some of these Joy, 33, from Kodakara, Thrissur. He was accused of cheating applicants for university education on behalf of educational counseling after guaranteed acceptance at various universities. Reportedly, he also gathered large amounts from educational institutions after reassuring them to establish an accredited laboratory of robotics and automation.
While the preliminary probe estimated that the accused had received at least 12 Lakh from several people, investigators suspected that there could be more victims in a suspicious missile. In other places, including Thrissura, there were other complaints against him, the police said.
In addition, Dr. Sovell Memorial CSI Medical College and Hospital, Karakonam, also submitted a formal complaint representatives of the police superintendent, Neyyattararara, against the accused for allegedly misleading students by promising an institution confession.
The accused was transferred to judicial custody, the police said.
