Thiruvallam police have arrested an accused for murdering a youth following an altercation at a bar last month.
The accused has been identified as 22-year-old Akshay from Kunnumpuram. He was accused of murdering Sujith, who was fatally stabbed by a group during an encounter in Thiruvallam.
Sujith, who has been on the run since the incident, has been nabbed by the Thampanoor police.
Four others, Akhil, Akhilesh, Renjith and Nandu, were arrested earlier in connection with the crime. After Akshay’s arrest, all the accused in the case are now in custody, police said. The police produced the accused before the court, which sent him to judicial custody.
