One died when a car crashed into a bus stand on the Mannuthy-Wadakkancherry highway in Kerala

One person was killed and three were seriously injured after the driver lost control of the car which rammed into a bus stand at Vaniyampara on the Mannuthy-Wadakkancherry section of the state highway early on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Razak of Pottidam, Vaniyampara, who was waiting at the bus stand. His wife Shakeela and Vaniyampara natives Pradeep and Manikandan sustained injuries in the accident.

The accident took place around 6 am on the road from Palakkad towards Thrissur. The car allegedly went out of control and crashed into the bus stop where the victims were waiting.

The injured were taken to hospital. They are said to have sustained serious injuries.

The driver of the car, Amal, a native of Thrissur, was taken into police custody. Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances that led to the accident.
