A 38-year-old woman was killed, while four others were injured after being hit on Friday by a cement car in Girisamuthiram Village at Chennai-Bengaluru motorway (NH 44).
The police said the deceased was identified as Naciya Begam, a native of Vaniyambadi. The initial investigation revealed that, along with five light vehicles, Mohammed IQball (45), a private driving school instructor, taught driving skills to one of the students in Omnivan when he turned sharply to the section. The driver for the V. Murugan (34) vehicle, who was driving trucks behind the car he caught in the section, did not know about the sudden turn and hit the vehicle.
All residents in Omnivan were seriously injured. Immediately, other motorists and passers -by and saved the injured people rushed. They also alerted the police and ambulances Vaniyambadi Taluk. The injured persons were accepted at the Taluk Government Hospital in Vaniyambadi. A case was registered. The operation was influenced for about half an hour on the route. The truck driver was arrested. The probe is running.
