Forest department officials recently arrested a person for charging sandalwood and confiscated 107 kg of sandalwood in Shikaripur.
The arrest was identified as Kantaraju, 38 years, the inhabitants of Gajanur in Shivamogg. He and six more cut off sandalwood from the plantation of the department in Shikaripur Range. Six more succeeded in the escape. Officers registered the case of the forest and created arrested before the judicial judge.
The accusation was arrested by the forest officer of the Revanasiddaiah B. Hiremath and his employees who acted under the leadership of the forest representative for Sagar Mohan Kumar and the assistant of the Forest conservator Ravindra Naik, the press release said.
