The Indian countryman died on Friday during a diving diving meeting outside the Jumeirah beach in Dubai. The deceased, identified as ISSAC Paul Olakkengil, was 29 years old. According to Gulf Times, ISSAC, originally from Kerala, was in Dubai with his family for Eid Al Adha. He worked as a professional engineer in UAE.
ISSAC sought with his wife Reshma and younger brother Ivin in the designated training area. During the session, he reportedly suffered a heart attack after he faced breathing difficulty.
“They seem to be trained on diving and apparently could not breathe properly and move from the pack,” said Pyarilos Davis, a relative while talking to News News.
“So, everyone panicked and was hit underwater. I was told that Reshma was first rescued to the shore, followed by two more,” he added.
ISSAC was rushed to a nearby hospital, but could not be revived. His brother Ivin has also collapsed during the incident and is currently under medical observation. “He’s out of danger,” Pyarilos confirmed.
“They are all engineers. While ISSAC and RESHMA are in Dubai, Ivin is located in Abu Dhabi. Ivin’s friends just told me that they were afraid that these cordially perverted reports share a strong bond,” Pyarilos said. Ivin was not informed about the death of his brother on Saturday.
The authorities have initiated the incident investigation and confiscated the equipment used during the dive. The family is now working with police officials in the repatriation of Issac’s body.
“We cooperate with the authorities to repatriate its deadly remains after we receive the necessary legal documents,” Pyarilos said.
