Former MP YS Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Suneetha Narreddy has sought justice in her father’s gruesome murder case.
Addressing a media conference in Pulivendula on Sunday to mark the seventh death anniversary of Vivekananda Reddy, Ms. Suneetha expressed displeasure at the way the CBI conducted the investigation and felt that the investigating agency could have gone deeper into the facts to arrive at a fair conclusion.
She pointed to inconsistencies in phone conversations and reports, conflicting eyewitness accounts, conflicting statements recorded by those with knowledge of the matter over time, in addition to technical inconsistencies in the narrative.
Dr. Suneetha noted that the CBI did not act on information provided by some witnesses and opined that the agency had to revise the statement several times “under pressure”.
The main discrepancy she mentioned was that the cause of death was first mentioned as cardiac arrest by the news channel, which then changed it to homicide. “It was a deliberate cover-up to continue the ‘heart attack’ narrative for three hours,” she countered.
“If the investigating agency is truly seeking the truth, these issues must be fully and transparently investigated. Justice cannot rest on unanswered contradictions. There is no need for closure, but an honest effort to follow the trail of evidence,” she said.
