The left side condemned the social boycott of Dalit in Mallam in the Pithapurama constituency of the Kakinada district. The parties also demanded that the representatives of the main Minister K. Pawan Kalyan visit the village and take steps to protect the Dalits.
In his statement on Monday (April 21), the State Secretary of the Communist Party (CPI) K. Ramakrishn described a social boycott deposited by local landlords on the Dalitian families in Mallam as inhuman and pitiful. Not only was the compensation denied the family of a young Dalitian man who died because of an electric escape, but the landlords also went forward and imposed a social boycott of a mourning family – a deeply condemnable act, said, “In civilized society, such social evil and practices are unacceptable and shame.”
Representatives of the Chief Minister and Pithapuram MLA Pawan Kalyan should respond immediately and take the appropriate measures. Protection must be ensured by Dalits in the village and strict measures must be taken against those who have promoted social boycotting. The government must ensure that such incidents do not repeat. In addition, CPI requires him to add a young Dalit family, who died for electric currents, he added.
Secretary of the State Committee of India-Marxist (CPI (M)) V. Srinivasa Rao killed a social boycott. It is unfair that the government, under the pretext of maintaining law and order, protects the landlord by considering this problem as a dispute between two groups without acting. CPI (M) demanded that the Dalits in the village be provided with protection and that strict measures against landlords according to the law SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) be taken to promote social boycott. The government must ensure that these incidents do not repeat, he said.
