
The Chief Minister Pinaraya Vijayan repeated the call to cooperate to complete the Rehabilitation of the Wayanad Survivors on the first anniversary of the disaster.
On Tuesday, the main minister welcomed the survivors of one of the worst natural disasters in the state and those who worked tirelessly in their efforts to rescue and rehabilitation.
The memories of the disaster of Mundakkai-chooralmal would remain with people forever. At the same time, it was another example of the Keral model that saw people overcame the tragedy together with confidence, he said.
The government, said, provided support to the survivors by providing them with a living, rent, medical assistance, education and rehabilitation.
Soon after the disaster, government machines, along with people, launched rescue efforts in a way that emphasized the unity and determination of the state. He moved those who lost their loved ones to embossed camps, provided them with assistance and mental support, and provided students’ education in the camps themselves. The dependent persons killed were given financial assistance. The government paid the rent of those who moved to rented accommodation or lived with relatives, and took care of further treatment of those who needed it. Help was provided to those who lost their living. Steps were taken to make all the documents that were lost from the ration card to the waist. Food sets were distributed. The facility was available at Mepadi GHSS for students’ education. By mid -August, a new building and four classrooms will be prepared.
Financial assistance was provided to children who lost one or both parents. Steps were also taken to meet all affected disasters and give them advice on the anniversary.
The construction of the black neighborhood to rehabilitate the survivors was on. Those who did not want a house in the black neighborhood were provided financial assistance, said the main minister.
