Lok Sabha Om Birla speaker on Friday (August 29, 2025) expressed concern about the lack of meaningful discussions in Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and state legislative gatherings.
At the two -day national conference of the planned caste and tribes of the Social Legislature Committees, Mr. Birla said there was an extensive worrying language and negotiations that should ideally conduct such negotiations.
“In parliamentary committees, the language, ideas and opinions of members are always over party policy,” Birla said. He called on the legislators to increase over party lines on national interest issues.
“If we want to advance the country, we must improve the social and economic conditions of Dalits, tribes and other marginalized sections. To build a nation based on stocks, we must ensure that their rights are observed in accordance with their needs,” he pointed out.
This is the first time that the conference is organized outside Delhi. The first conference of the Chairman of the SC and STS Committees took place in Nový Delhi in 1976. The following conferences took place in 1979, 1983, 1987 and 2001.
On this occasion, the main Minister Odisha Mohan Majhi said that 40% of the state of the population belongs to Dalit and tribal communities and various programs were carried out for their development.
Minister Union tribal Jual Oram spoke about the premieres of Janman and Dharti Aaba Janjatiya gram Utkarsh Schemes, which he said would directly benefit five crore tribes.
The Minister of Education of the Union Dharndra Pradhan and Odisha Speaker Suram Padhi were also present.
