“The police investigating the case… registered at Subramanyapura Police Station, Bengaluru City will not harass the petitioner under the guise of investigation,” the court said, according to a Hindustan Times report.
what is it about
The case, currently filed in the Karnataka High Court, comes from Ola Electric challenging an FIR filed by Ashwin Kannan, who claims that his brother and Ola employee, K Aravind, took his own life due to mental harassment, non-payment of salary and allowances by the electric vehicle maker.
In an official statement, Ola Electric said that Aravind has reportedly never lodged a harassment complaint against anyone during his three-year stint with Ola Electric.

The electric vehicle maker also said that Arvind’s role does not involve any direct interaction with the company’s top management, including the company’s promoter Bhavish Aggarwal.
“During his tenure, Aravind never raised any grievance or complaint regarding his employment or any harassment. His role also did not involve any direct interaction with the top management of the company, including the promoter,” Ola said.
The company also expressed its condolences to Aravind’s family and expressed grief over the loss of their colleague. While the company said it had “facilitated a full and final settlement to Aravind’s account” to provide support to the family, it challenged the FIR by filing a petition in the Karnataka High Court.

How did an Ola employee die?
The deceased, 38-year-old K Aravind, who was working as a homologation engineer at Ola Electric since 2022, took his own life by drinking poison.
According to earlier reports, K Aravind attempted suicide on 28 September 2025 at his apartment in Chikkalasandra. After the discovery, Aravind was immediately rushed to the Maharaja Agrasen Hospital, but later succumbed to his injuries despite medical support.
Mint had earlier reported that Aravind’s brother Ashwin Kannan, who filed an FIR at Bengaluru’s Subramanyapura police station, said that in a 28-page handwritten note, the 38-year-old accused his superiors of mental harassment, non-payment of salary and allowances.
