Another CEO (ADG), Eastern Command, Border Security Force (BSF), Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, reviewed the operational readiness on the border of North Bengal during his visit on Thursday (May 8, 2025).
According to the BSF statement, ADG visited the headquarters of BSF North Bengal, Kadamtala to check the current AOR security scenario. It is worth noting that North Bengal shares not only the borders with Banglades, but also with Nepal and Bhutan.

The visit of Mr. Aggarwal took place on Thursday (May 8, 2025), the day after the Indian armed forces launched a military action against the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan under the Sindoor operation in the early morning of May 7.
At the beginning of this year, the ADG Eastern BSF command in 1994-the IPS cadre Tamil Nadu, Mr. Aggarwal, was appointed. During his visit, he was informed by the General Inspector of North Bengal of BSF, Mukesh Tyagi, the “prevailing security situation and emerging challenges” across the border of India-Bangladesh. Operating and administrative challenges were also discussed.
The ADG ordered the BSF units to be “extremely alert” due to the current security situation along the zero line and thwarted any attempt at cross -border crimes.
Mr. Aggarwal was also informed by the representative of the General Inspector (DIG) Jalpaiguri during his visit to the Teen Bigha corridor under the BSF Jalpaiguri. There he reviewed the operational and administrative challenges in the river area of the Teesta River and the enlave Dahagram-English. The efficiency of electronic tracking systems in the area was also checked.
BSF arrests nine bangladesh
On May 9, the BSF Kishanganj Sector under North Bengal successfully arrested nine Bangladesh nationals from the village of Daspar in the Uttar Dinajpur district in West Bengal.
The arrest allegedly comes from the Bangladeshi Dinajpur and Narsindi. According to the BSF statement, most of them worked as workers in Rajasthan since last year.
