Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has ordered the number of vehicles in his personal security convoy to be halved.
A statement issued by the chief minister’s office said, “In view of the oil crisis witnessed worldwide due to the situation in West Asia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the citizens of the country to adopt various cost-cutting measures, especially to reduce petrol consumption. Mr. Majhi has welcomed the Prime Minister’s call and reduced the number of vehicles in his personal security convoy by half.”
“Further, taking into account the Prime Minister’s call, the Chief Minister urged people to minimize the use of private vehicles and instead use public transport more. He advised that vehicles should be used only when necessary and unnecessary use should be avoided,” the statement further said.
People have been advised not to buy gold and avoid unnecessary travel abroad.
