October 7 last date for submission of claims and objections for SIR in Telangana
As the deadline for applications and objections ends on October 7, the authorities are faced with a mountain of forms waiting to be processed.
According to the data, as many as 7,56,180 forms 6, 6A, 7 and 8 are yet to be processed in the state.
Official figures show that as many as 27,555 Form 7s were awaiting processing. Of these, as many as 5,077, the highest number, were from Hyderabad district, 3,090 from Sangareddy district, 1,498 from Nizamabad district and 1,331 from Rangareddy district.
The alleged misuse of Form 7 has created a controversy with cases of attempts at mass deletion of voters from the roll being reported in Musheerabad and Goshamahahal.
The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen alleged that a “supporter” of the Bharatiya Janata Party submitted pre-filled Form 7 en masse in an attempt to eliminate voters belonging to the Muslim community.
