The Secretary General of MDMK VAIKO said on Tuesday that the observation of the main judge of India Br Gavai at the Mulperiyar dam would cause great injustice.
While he listened to the Save Keral petition, which was looking for a direction to eliminate the dam, the judge said the court would consider the issue of instructions to strengthen the structure and transfer the matter to the expert to examine his safety and assess the feasibility of the construction of the new dam.
Mr. Vaiko pointed out that the Committee, led by justice as Anand, who studied the safety of the dam, submitted to the Supreme Court that the dam would withstand an earthquake and that other dams such as the children’s dam and the Idukki dam are safe. “The Committee also stated that even though the water level is raised to 152 feet, it does not pose any threat to its safety,” Mr. VAIKO said, remembling the committee report.
Demand for demolition
He said it was very condemnable that the government of Keraly and to save Keral Brigade filed a petition asking for permission to demolish the dam. “We must beat the conspiracy of Kerala,” he said in his statement.
