
The Summer Street Initiative in New York is back for the next weekend. The activities are planned from 7:00 to 15:00 local time. The route from the Brooklyn Bridge will be completely closed to vehicles on Dyckman Street, CBS reported. The Summer Streets initiative allows people to walk, run, bike and enjoy more fun in the streets over the weekend. A total of 22 miles of roads will be closed at the event.
This is the third direct weekend of the summer streets in Manhattan. The 2025 edition began in July on Staten Island and Queens. In addition, the event will be on the initiative of Open Streets City all year round. NYC Summer Streets will be wrapped in Brooklyn and Bronx next weekend.

NYC Summer Streets: Brooklyn Bridge Access
According to the official website, Nycdot, vehicles will be diverted to Manhattan from the output from Central Street to the Row Row South Exis or FDR Drive.
For motorists who go to Brooklyn, all entrances to the Brooklyn Bridge will be accessible. This includes FDR Drive, Park Row North, Pearl Street and Chambers Street.
“The usual noise of operation and Honking horns will be replaced by open streets that are teeming with pedestrians, cyclists, runners and artists. Discover a lot of free cultural programs, performances, fitness courses, interactive art, gifts and more when you experience the city in a completely new way,” he reads.
The buses will be redirected along the route of summer streets and parking will be limited along the route, starting with 17:00 on the night before each event until 16:00 on the day of the event.
