
Several key metro lines in New York were on Tuesday morning after a power outage at the large signal center of Manhattan, causing a commuting chaos in the middle of an intense thermal wave.
According to MTA, the problem began shortly before 8:30 in the morning at West 4. Street – Washington Square, where power failure affected the signaling system. While the trains retained on board the power supply and air conditioning, the service on multiple lines stopped or was redirected.

According to MTA, train service B and C is suspended in both directions due to power outage near West 4. Street in Greenwich Village.
Lines A, D and M are partially suspended, trains F are redirected and E and G trains experience significant delays.

Commuting faces the main disturbance
Thousands of morning commuting were left or forced to take alternative routes when the metro platforms were filled and the trains stopped. Transit officials urged the riders to look for alternative transport and watch the MTA or social media websites for real -time updates.
The MTA did not provide an estimated timeline for complete restoration of services.
