
The Kerala government has appointed a special prosecutor to handle the appeal in the sexual abuse case against Bishop Franco Mulakkala.
The state government on Friday appointed BG Harindranath, former law minister, as special public prosecutor.
The decision comes as the survivor, a nun, seeks a special prosecutor to handle a High Court appeal.
A case has been registered at the Kuravilangad police station. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan issued instructions to appoint Mr. Harindranath as Special Prosecutor. An announcement on his appointment will be issued soon, the Chief Minister’s office said on Friday.
