NTR Collector launches ‘Operation Trishul’ to fight drug abuse, crimes against women and road accidents

Collector G. Lakshmisha launched ‘Operation Trishul’ to control crime against women, prevent road accidents and combat drug use in NTR district.

Mr. Lakshmisha, along with NTR Commissioner of Police SV Rajasekhara Babu, Deputy Commissioners of Police KGV Saritha and G. Ramakrishna, District Medical and Health Officer Dr. A. Sravan Babu and other officials had a program lunch here on Monday.

“On the instructions of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Operation Trishul has been launched under which officials of various departments will work together to check drug use, road accidents and crimes against women,” Mr. Lakshmisha said.

Officials of medical and health, police, women development and child welfare and other departments will take measures to check crimes under Operation Trishul, the collector said.

Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner of Police said that the number of NDPS cases has reduced by 81.4% and there has been a decrease of 14.8% in crime against women in the NTR Commissionerate.

Mr. Rajasekhara Babu urged the officials of various departments to join hands to end drug use, crimes against women and road accidents.

Later, Mr. Lakshmisha and other officials released Operation Trishul posters.
