NTA sacks 47 officials amid NEET protests; officials say the agency will “undergo a complete overhaul” | Today’s news

The National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for conducting major competitive examinations in the country, terminated the services of 47 officials on Friday. More terminations will follow, according to NTA officials.

The purge, which comes amid anti-NEET protests, has been described as part of a major overhaul of the exam body. NTA remained under scrutiny due to NEET paper leak controversies.

“In a major effort to implement serious examination reforms, the National Testing Agency has dismissed 47 officials from their services. Legal and criminal action will also be taken against some of these officials,” the press release said. “Further reformation actions will follow.”

“The NTA will undergo a complete overhaul, with reformation actions to follow,” the officials said.
