NSEFI launches Southern Regional Committee Chapter

The National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI) launched its South Regional Committee chapter in Chennai on Wednesday. NSEFI, through its subsidiary NSEFI Sustainable Energy Federation of Industry, has announced the formal launch of its Southern Regional Committee branch in the city.

Addressing the gathering, R. Chellappan, chairman of the Southern Regional Committee, said the forum helped push the growth of the renewable energy sector in India. “The association solves problems and presents problems to local governments,” Mr. Chellappan said, advocating a uniform policy across the country.

TANGEDCO Chairman and Managing Director J. Radhakrishnan elaborated on the steps being taken by the State Government in the sector. Sharing a personal note, Mr. Radhakrishnan said that he used to pay a bi-monthly electricity bill ranging from ₹20,000 to ₹55,000, but once he decided to go solar on the roof, it came down drastically.

Prasoon Anand, Deputy Director, NSEFI, PA Praveen Kumar, Managing Director, ACE Renewtech Engineering Pvt. Ltd. and Pashu Gopalan, Founder and CEO, Fenice Energy were also present.
