“His participation in the Colombo, New Delhi Security Conclave is a continuation of the caretaker government’s efforts to promote mutually beneficial regional cooperation,” the chief adviser’s press wing said while announcing Mr. Rahman’s first visit to India since taking charge of the NSA on April 9, 2025. Mr. Rahman Advisery previously served as the Chief Representative of Issu’h.
Hours after announcing his trip to Delhi, Mr Rahman visited Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma’s residence in Dhaka’s Baridhara district, diplomatic sources said.
“The interim government emphasizes regional cooperation as a priority and actively participated in the meetings of various regional bodies,” the press office said. Mr. Rahman has been a proponent of extending humanitarian aid to the people of Myanmar’s Rakhine province and pushed for a “humanitarian corridor” to support civilians in the conflict-affected region.
In recent months, Mr Rahman has emerged as a key diplomat for Bangladesh’s interim government, often representing the country in exchanges with counterparts and partners in the United States, Qatar, China and other countries.
