
On Thursday, the TELANGANA High Court issued a notice to the State Government in a petition that was looking for a direction to abolish the appointment of B. Janak Prasad and S. Zarasimh Reddy as a chairman and a member in the TELANGANA State Wages Advisory Board.
The bench of the main judge Aparesh Kumar Singh and the Justice P. Sam Kosha ordered the government to respond within four weeks for points raised in a petition that the demanding edition of GO 443 appoints the Chairman of the Board of Directors and a member. The Ganji Raju Chikku counselor claimed that their appointment was carried out in violation of Sections 8 (2) and (9) of the 1948 minimum wage Act. It was also against the spirit of Articles 14, 19 and 21.
According to him, they should be the chairman and members of the wages council with independent members. They should not hold a position in any other office, he said. While Janak Prasad was the Secretary -General of Singareni Coal Mines Union (associated with Intuc) and the official spokesperson of the Congress Committee Telangana Pradesh, S. Narasimha Reddy was vice president of the same Union.
Their appointment should be declared arbitrary and illegal, the attorney said.
